Testing Details
- Testing conducted at General Dynamics Land Systems Test Laboratory, Sterling Heights, MI (October, 2011)
- All inserts installed into 0.5 thick plate of 6061 Aluminum, per manufacturer’s specifications
- Comparative test consisted of (3) Torque-Out tests and (3) Pull-Out (Tensile) tests for each insert style
- Values shown on each chart show average recorded failure point across (3) samples of each insert style
- All tests were performed using Grade 8 bolts
- All inserts tested were M12x1.75 internal thread size
